Moria Casán Netflix biopic hits global Top 10 amid legal disputes

The Netflix biopic series about Argentine icon Moria Casán has achieved significant global success, entering the Top 10 for non-English language series and ranking first in Argentina and Uruguay. Despite its commercial triumph, the production is facing legal challenges and public controversy.

Ingrid Vadalá, the daughter of Casán’s late former partner Luis Vadalá, has announced plans to sue both the production company and Netflix. She claims the series portrays her father in a “grotesque” and “vulgar” manner, specifically criticizing depictions of his character and alleged substance use issues.

Additionally, the series has sparked tension between journalist Marcelo Polino and singer Lali Espósito. Polino accused Espósito of isolating herself from the cast during filming, while Espósito has denied these claims. Moria Casán has since publicly expressed support for Espósito to mitigate rumors of a feud.
