Netflix series ‘The Witcher’ final season potentially delayed to 2027
The fifth and final season of the Netflix fantasy series ‘The Witcher’ may face a delay, with reports suggesting a 2027 release instead of 2026. While Netflix has not officially confirmed a new date, the season has reportedly been removed from the streaming service’s public-facing promotional materials and annual previews.
Production for the final season is already complete, as the last two seasons were filmed back-to-back, with filming concluding in late 2025. A 2027 premiere would align with the series' previous release rhythm of approximately two years between seasons.
The final installment is expected to adapt the remaining novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, ‘The Tower of Swallows’ and ‘The Lady of the Lake’. The cast includes Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Ciri, and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg.
