Netflix sets release date for ‘The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey’ series

Netflix has announced the global premiere date of December 10, 2026, for its new limited series, ‘The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey’. The production features Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen in the lead roles as Patsy and John Bennett Ramsey.

The series dramatizes the 1996 unsolved murder of six-year-old JonBenét Ramsey in Boulder, Colorado. It aims to explore the crime alongside the intense media scrutiny and the personal reckoning faced by the Ramsey family. The project was originally developed for Paramount+, but Netflix acquired the series from 101 Studios in July 2025.

Showrunner Richard LaGravenese and director Anne Sewitsky lead the production. The cast includes Emily Mitchell as JonBenét Ramsey, Garrett Hedlund as Detective Steve Thomas, and Alison Pill as Detective Linda Arndt. The series is expected to arrive near the 30th anniversary of the original case.
