Netflix shares slide as acquisition hopes fade and investors trim stakes

Netflix has faced a series of setbacks in its pursuit of strategic acquisitions. Reports confirmed the streaming giant lost a bid for Roku to Fox Corp and a company spokesperson denied rumors that Netflix was planning to acquire Lionsgate. The news prompted a further 3.5% drop in Netflix’s share price, adding to a year‑to‑date decline of more than 17%.

At the same time, institutional investors are adjusting their exposure to the company. PKO Investment Management Joint Stock Co cut its Netflix holding by 26.3%, selling 50,000 shares and leaving it with 140,000 shares valued at about $13.5 million. The move comes amid broader investor activity, with other large funds changing their stakes as Netflix’s stock continues to fall.
