Netflix shelves SEC football docuseries for 2026 season

Netflix will not produce a second season of its SEC college football docuseries, ‘SEC Football: Any Given Saturday’, for the 2026 season. The series, produced by Box To Box Films, debuted in August 2025 and chronicled 10 programs during the 2024 football season, including LSU, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina.

An SEC spokesperson stated that the original plan was to complete one season and then reassess. While no filming has taken place for a second season, the conference indicated that discussions regarding future opportunities or different approaches with the streaming service are ongoing.

Data shows the series generated approximately 3 million views and 15.8 million hours watched between its debut in August 2025 and the end of December. Participating schools included Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt, while major programs such as Alabama, Georgia, and Texas did not participate.
