Netflix shifts strategy to integrate third-party content

Netflix is shifting its strategic model toward the integration of third-party content to expand its catalog and increase user retention in a maturing streaming market. This evolution moves the company away from its historical focus on exclusive original productions toward becoming a centralized hub for diverse entertainment offerings.

In Spain, Netflix has reached an agreement with Filmin to feature approximately 10 titles from the Catalan platform each month, curated by Netflix’s editorial team to provide subscribers with more auteur cinema. This follows recent deals with Atresmedia to incorporate various productions, such as ‘El hormiguero’ and ‘Pasapalabra,’ into its catalog.

In France, the company has already begun integrating content from the TF1 group, allowing users to access live television signals and on-demand programming. Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters has indicated that the company remains open to similar agreements that provide value to both users and partners.
