Netflix thriller Gajab Raat explores corruption and morality

The Netflix film Gajab Raat, directed by Ritesh Shah and produced by Neeraj Pandey, follows a corrupt police officer named Sub-Inspector Ajay Nirvit. The plot is set in motion when an injured girl is thrown from a moving car, an incident that quickly gains social media attention.

As Ajay attempts to exploit the situation for personal gain, the arrival of CBI and NIA officers complicates his plans, forcing him to navigate a web of powerful interests and difficult moral dilemmas. While the film explores themes of guilt, justice, and systemic corruption, it is a fictional crime thriller rather than a retelling of true events.

Lead actor Manoj Bajpayee carries much of the narrative, portraying a character whose motivations shift between greed and desperation. While his performance has received some appreciation, some viewers have noted a perceived repetition in his acting mannerisms across recent projects.
