Netflix thriller ‘Legends’ climbs charts with true crime story

The British crime thriller series ‘Legends’ has risen to the top of Netflix's viewership charts following a quiet debut. Created by Neil Forsyth, the six-episode miniseries is based on true events from the late 1980s and early 1990s.

During the Margaret Thatcher administration, the UK faced a significant heroin epidemic. To combat drug trafficking through ports and airports, the government implemented a unique program where civil service employees were trained as undercover agents. These individuals operated under fabricated identities, referred to in the operation as ‘legends,’ to infiltrate criminal organizations and gather intelligence from within.
