Netflix thriller “Los creyentes” starring José Coronado tops Spanish charts

The Spanish‑language thriller “Los creyentes”, directed by Roger Gual and starring two‑time Goya winner José Coronado, was released on Netflix and quickly rose to become the platform’s number‑one title in Spain. Within its first week the film entered the top ten most‑watched titles worldwide, ranking sixth globally. Production took place largely in Asturias, with key scenes shot in the towns of Mieres, Langreo and Quirós, as well as interior work in Madrid and exterior sequences in Berlin. Local residents welcomed the crew, and Coronado praised the Asturian landscape, saying he “loved Mieres”. The film’s success has drawn attention to the region’s mining heritage and natural scenery, boosting interest in the locations featured on screen.
