Netflix to adapt Javier Castillo novel El susurro del fuego

Netflix has announced the production of a four-part miniseries based on the novel ‘El susurro del fuego’ (The Whisper of Fire) by Spanish author Javier Castillo. This marks the fourth time Castillo’s work has been adapted by the streaming platform, following previous hits such as ‘La chica de nieve’.

The dramatic thriller follows the investigation into the death of Laura, an astrophysicist whose body is found in Teide National Park. Her twin brother, Mario, who is battling cancer, and Civil Guard sergeant Candela Oramas launch separate investigations to uncover the truth behind her passing.

Filming is currently underway in various locations across Tenerife and Madrid. The production is led by directors Laura Alvea and José Ortuño, with Atípica Producciones returning as the production company. The cast features Inma Cuesta, Alejandro García, Iván Pellicer, Zoe Bonafonte, and Alicia Armenteros.
