Netflix to debut 'Aquel' biopic on Spanish singer Raphael on Oct 9

Netflix announced that the eight‑episode series *Aquel*, a biopic of Spanish singer Raphael, will premiere on 9 October in Spain and across Latin America. The drama follows Raphael’s life from his post‑civil‑war childhood to his international stage success, covering more than six decades of his career. Javier Morgade portrays the young Raphael and Carlos Santos the mature artist, supported by a cast that includes Francesco Carril, Natalia Varela, Pepa Aniorte and Manolo Caro.

The production is a collaboration between DLO Producciones and Caracol Televisión, directed by Tito López Amado, Javier Pulido and Beatriz Sanchís, with a script by Ignacio del Moral, Paloma Rando and Adrià P. Xancó. Filming takes place in locations such as Madrid, Las Vegas, Moscow, Paris and Acapulco. Raphael himself said the series “not only tells my story, it reflects a shared history of more than six decades of unforgettable moments.”
