Netflix to give Greta Gerwig’s Narnia film exclusive cinema release

Netflix is planning a significant shift in its distribution strategy with the upcoming production of ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew’. Directed by Greta Gerwig, the film marks the first time the streaming giant will grant a full, exclusive theatrical release to a feature-length production before it moves to its subscription service.

The project is based on the book series by Irish author C.S. Lewis. Gerwig’s adaptation intends to tell the beginning of the Narnia story. Previews for the film are scheduled to begin on February 12, 2027.
