Netflix to debut Indian Air Force Kargil War drama “Operation Safed Sagar” on Aug 7

Netflix has announced that the military drama series *Operation Safed Sagar* will launch worldwide on 7 August. The show is inspired by the Indian Air Force’s 1999 Kargil War air campaign, focusing on the Golden Arrows Squadron and the pilots, families and support staff who carried out the operation.

Created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava and directed by Oni Sen, the series features an ensemble cast that includes Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Dia Mirza, Adil Hussain, Prajakta Koli and others. Produced by Matchbox Shots and Feel Good Films, filming took place at more than 100 locations, some over 16,000 feet high, with extensive visual‑effects work to recreate the high‑altitude combat environment. The series aims to balance large‑scale battle sequences with personal stories of courage, sacrifice and leadership, offering a first‑of‑its‑kind portrayal of this lesser‑known chapter of India’s modern military history.
