Netflix has announced that its limited series adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic novel, ‘East of Eden’, will premiere on October 1, 2026. The seven-episode production has released its first official images, featuring Florence Pugh as the antihero Cathy Ames.

Written and executive produced by Zoe Kazan, the series offers a contemporary interpretation of the multigenerational Trask family saga set in California’s Salinas Valley. Kazan, the granddaughter of director Elia Kazan, aimed to provide a more comprehensive exploration of the source material than previous adaptations.

The cast includes Christopher Abbott as Adam Trask, Mike Faist as Charles Trask, Joseph Zada as Cal Trask, and Joe Anders as Aron Trask. Other featured actors are Hoon Lee, Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton, and Ciarán Hinds.
