A Different World Netflix revival Hillman College HBCU television premiere

Netflix is set to release a 10-episode revival of the sitcom ‘A Different World’ on September 24. The series returns to the setting of Hillman College, focusing on a new generation of students while reintegrating several original cast members.

The new ensemble is led by Maleah Joi Moon, who portrays Deborah Wayne, the daughter of original characters Whitley Gilbert and Dwayne Wayne. Other new cast members include Alijah Kai, Cornell Young IV, Jordan Aaron Hall, Kennedi Reece, and Chibuikem Uche.

Legacy stars such as Jasmine Guy, Cree Summer, Darryl M. Bell, and Kadeem Hardison are expected to appear, bridging the gap between the original series and the sequel. Debbie Allen serves as an executive producer and director for the revival. A star-studded premiere event was recently held at Morehouse College in Atlanta to celebrate the upcoming launch.
