Netflix to release Swedish thriller series “A Couple of Lies”

Netflix will release “A Couple of Lies”, a four-episode Swedish psychological thriller series, on October 30. Based on the bestselling crime novel by Stefan Ahnhem, the series follows two couples who participate in a house swap to escape their daily routines and relationship issues.

Helene and Karl swap their home in the Stockholm archipelago for a sunny villa in Sicily, while Scarlet and Adam move into the Swedish residence. What begins as a getaway quickly descends into a dark narrative of surveillance, manipulation, and distrust as both couples discover unsettling details and hidden secrets in their temporary homes.

The series is directed by Kasper Barfoed and adapted for television by Amanda Hogberg and Axel Stjerne. The cast includes Emma Appleton, Fares Fares, Frida Gustavson, and Jakob Oftebro.
