Netflix's 'Gas Human' attracts crowds with drone billboard in Tokyo

Netflix's Japanese series "Gas Human" debuted on July 2 and quickly rose to #1 in Japan and entered the global top‑10. To promote the show, a nighttime guerrilla event was held on July 10 in Shinjuku, Tokyo. A 12 × 9‑metre LED drone screen lifted into the sky above the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower plaza, displaying a four‑minute video of the titular gas‑shapeshifting killer. About 500 spectators gathered and reacted with applause.

The series, a sci‑fi crime thriller starring Oguri Shun and Aoi Yū, includes numerous hidden details. Each episode features a different animal cameo, a real QR code that leads to exclusive footage, and stunt sequences filmed on a closed‑off Tokyo Station platform. Other Easter eggs reference classic Toho films and Western cinema, and the production used a real four‑story building jump for a key scene. These trivia points have sparked online discussion among fans.
