The Netflix series “Gas Human” (ガス人間), a reboot of Toho’s 1960 special‑effects film “Gas Human No. 1”, launched on July 2 and quickly entered Netflix’s weekly Top 10 in Japan, maintaining the position for four weeks and ranking highly in 28 countries and regions. The project marks the first creative partnership between Toho and Netflix, combining Japanese and Korean talent.

Executive producer and screenwriter Yong Sanho, known for “New Infection: Final Express”, and director Shinsan Katayama, noted for “The Cape Brothers” and “Sagas”, shaped the series as a human‑drama‑focused ensemble piece.
