Netherlands and India deepen strategic partnership on trade and critical minerals

The Netherlands and India have declared a strategic partnership that places trade, investment and critical minerals at its core. Dutch Ambassador to India Marisa Gerards said the partnership will be reinforced by the proposed India‑European Union free‑trade agreement, which is expected to boost economic ties.

Both governments have signed memoranda of understanding covering critical minerals and semiconductors, aiming to create resilient supply chains, promote research, talent exchange and ESG standards. The cooperation follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s May visit to the Netherlands, during which the two sides agreed to deepen collaboration in emerging technologies and value‑chain integration.

The partnership is intended to diversify economies and strengthen supply‑chain security for both countries over the next five years.
