Netherlands bus services face disruptions and reduced wheelchair access
Extra eight‑person minibuses have been deployed on line 67 between Purmerend and Zaandam after repeated complaints about missed or delayed services. The operator EBS, together with Vervoerregio Amsterdam, is also considering temporary diesel buses and an additional charging point for electric vehicles, though riders continue to report irregular arrivals.
In the Arnhem‑Nijmegen‑Foodvalley region, provincial politicians have criticised a new Transdev concession that cuts the number of wheelchair spaces on buses from two to one. Chairwoman Marjolein van den Broek and disability organisations say the change reduces accessibility, while provincial executive Klaas Ruitenberg claims the situation is unchanged, sparking a heated debate in the Gelderland Provincial States.
