Netherlands sees spate of traffic crashes, fires and other emergencies

In Gelderland, a vehicle caught fire while travelling on the Westervoortsedijk in Arnhem, destroying the car and prompting lane closures. Police later discovered a deceased person on Broekstraat in Arnhem. A frontal collision on Kerkwijksekade in Kerkwijk left four people injured. An old club house at a dog‑sport venue in Zoelen was set ablaze, allegedly after an individual ignited a waste pile. Additional incidents included a two‑vehicle crash in Apeldoorn, a camper fire in Groenlo and a minor road‑traffic accident involving a motorcyclist in Markelo.

In Groningen, a stabbing on Westerstraat in Ter Apel wounded one person. Near Noordbroek, three horses escaped onto the N33 after a fence was damaged, later being recovered. Traffic collisions on the N360 near Garmerwolde resulted in a lane closure and one person receiving ambulance care. A power failure halted train services between Groningen Europapark and Beilen, with limited bus replacements.

Overijssel reported a cyclist injured after colliding with a car on the Stouweweg in Wierden and a cyclist hit by a car near Marle. A motorcyclist was seriously injured after crashing in Markelo. A car entered the Zwolsekanaal in Vroomshoop, with a child rescued unharmed. Separate incidents involved a chlorine leak at a swimming pool in Staphorst and a container fire at an industrial site in Zwartsluis.
