Netherlands reports fire, Ye protest and transport disruptions on June 4

On June 4 a large fire broke out in a former Chinese restaurant in Epse, while authorities issued around 780 traffic‑related fines at the GelreDome in Arnhem amid concerns over congestion from concertgoers. Demonstrators gathered outside the venue to protest rapper Ye (Kanye West) over his recent antisemitic remarks.

Stink bombs were thrown in several Radboud University buildings in Nijmegen, creating strong odors in the Erasmus, Huygens and Maria Montessori halls. In the north, a defective railway bridge halted train services between Zuidbroek and Scheemda until about 20:00. Other incidents included a horse rescued from a ditch, a shop theft in a town centre, a flooded parallel road in Hoendiep, a scooter collision injuring one person, a hemp‑plant cultivation bust in Groningen, the discovery of a missing woman near Paterswoldsemeer, a bus that ended up in a ditch, and a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms.
