Netherlands experiences multiple unexplained residential explosions

In the city of Assen, a house on Entingestraat was targeted three times within a week, bringing the total number of explosions at the property to five in eight days. No injuries were reported, but the damage was significant. Police have cordoned off the area, collected forensic evidence and noted that the latest blast occurred at the rear of the house, outside the view of newly installed front‑facing cameras. Investigators suspect a link between the Assen incidents and earlier blasts on a nearby Klaverstraat residence.

Separately, in Delfzijl, an explosion erupted outside a hair‑dressing salon on Waterstraat on the night of 2 August. A bottle containing a flammable liquid and heavy fireworks was placed at the doorway, causing the blast. Again, no one was hurt. Police have seized the bottle and fireworks, are reviewing nearby CCTV and door‑bell footage, and have issued a public appeal for witnesses and any video recordings that might help identify the perpetrators.
