Netherlands prepares for 2026 Pride events amid falling youth acceptance of LGBTQ+

Zutphen will host its 2026 Pride on Saturday 11 July, featuring a Pride Walk that starts at the town hall at 16:00 and a celebration at the Koelhuis venue with drag performances, karaoke and a drag bingo show. The event is organised by local volunteers with support from the municipality.

In Amsterdam, preparations for WorldPride 2026 are accompanied by a new exhibition, “Queer Amsterdam”, which presents twelve personal stories of local LGBTQ+ residents. Recent research highlights a decline in acceptance: only 43 % of young people consider same‑sex relationships normal, and nearly half of LGBTQ+ respondents feel unsafe in public spaces. The exhibition runs free until September at the Stadsloket Centrum and will be followed by awareness evenings at city libraries.
