Netherlands government signs framework deal with ESET for public sector cybersecurity

The Dutch central government has entered a framework agreement with cybersecurity firm ESET that allows public institutions to adopt the company’s security solutions under pre‑agreed terms and conditions. The arrangement does not impose any purchase obligations or minimum spend commitments, giving agencies the freedom to decide when and whether to use the tools.

The deal is intended to boost the Netherlands’ digital resilience and reduce reliance on non‑European technologies. ESET CEO Dave Maasland said the partnership demonstrates that European innovation can meet the highest security standards and provide a trusted alternative for critical digital infrastructure. The agreement aligns with broader efforts to strengthen Europe’s cybersecurity ecosystem.
