Netherlands hosts community events for Week Against Loneliness
Various organizations in the Netherlands are hosting activities during the national Week Against Loneliness (Week tegen Eenzaamheid), which runs from late September through September 30, 2026.
In Ede, Resto VanHarte is organizing community dinners at the De Pleinen care center. The initiative includes the introduction of a new game focused on social health, designed to help participants discuss and strengthen their social relationships and connections with others. The organization emphasizes that maintaining social health is important even when individuals do not feel lonely.
In Goor, Wijkvoorziening ’t Doesgoor is hosting a Week of Meeting (Week van de Ontmoeting) featuring a diverse program of social and physical activities. The schedule includes communal walks, shared meals, tai chi and bootcamp trial lessons, bingo, and a reading lunch in collaboration with the Hof van Twente Library. Additionally, a new meeting group for parents and children under four is being launched to facilitate the exchange of experiences.
