Netherlands hosts heritage and sustainability events

The Netherlands is hosting various events focused on cultural heritage in September. Monument Day, themed ‘routes, networks, and connections’, will feature open access to several locations, including the St. Agathakerk, St. Jozef, and St. Martinus churches. Activities include guided tours, presentations on the Santiago de Compostella pilgrimage, and musical performances.

Additionally, the Sustainable Heritage Week is scheduled for the third week of September. The program includes a sustainability congress and a series of webinars and regional workshops. Topics of discussion include the use of aquathermie to heat city centers via canals and research into sustainable monument preservation involving experts from the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands and the Dutch Design Foundation.
