Netherlands museums launch community hub and new summer exhibition
The Tegelmuseum in Otterlo marked its 65th anniversary by unveiling a permanent “living‑room” space intended as a community hub. The initiative targets seniors, newcomers, young people and volunteers, offering monthly coffee meetings, heritage talks, workshops and a possible venue for the Eureka Alzheimer Café. The museum hopes to recruit eight to ten new volunteers as part of the programme, which runs over the weekend of 11‑12 July.
At the Coendersborg estate in Nuis, a free summer exhibition of painter Diet Ottema opened on 2 August and will run until the end of October. Ottema’s work draws on nature and his background as a social‑work therapist, with influences from Monet and Caillebotte. The exhibition is open every Sunday from 13:30 to 17:00, inviting visitors to view the paintings and explore the surrounding parkland.
