Mantgum train accident kills cyclist

A cyclist has died following a collision with a train near Mantgum. The incident occurred on the railway line between Leeuwarden and Sneek, leading to a temporary suspension of train services on that route.

ProRail stated that there is currently no reason to believe the level crossing at Mantgum malfunctioned. The rail operator is conducting an investigation once police and forensic teams have completed their work at the scene. During the disruption, buses were deployed to maintain service between Leeuwarden and Sneek.
