Netherlands sees surge of traffic collisions, shootings and fires

A live‑blog of emergency calls on 13‑14 June recorded a series of incidents across the Netherlands. On 13 June a cyclist was injured after a collision with a van on a roundabout in Putten, Gelderland, and several car crashes caused traffic disruptions in Groenland, IJzendoorn and Epe. Fires broke out at a house in Apeldoorn, a metal‑recycling warehouse in Apeldoorn and a bedroom in Winschoten.

On 14 June a 34‑year‑old man from Oldambt was seriously wounded in a shooting in Zuidlaren, while a 27‑year‑old woman was arrested. A stabbing in the De Wijert neighbourhood of Groningen left a minor injured. Additional incidents included a kitchen fire in Stad and a person rescued from water in Hoendiep.

Emergency services responded to each event, treating the injured and containing the fires, while police investigations continued for the violent incidents.
