Netherlands Showcases Urban Development: Blauwestad Photo Archive and Zoetermeer Housing Project

A new website, Blauwestad.nu, has been launched to chronicle the transformation of the village of Blauwestad from open land to a thriving residential area. The site features a photographic timeline compiled by resident Bert Schuthof and invites the public to submit additional historic images, especially early excavation photos.

In Zoetermeer, the developer Blauwhoed, operating under the Team UP! programme, was selected by the municipality to realise two inner‑city sites – Markt 10 and Frankrijklaan. The plan provides 235 mixed‑use homes with flexible apartments, shared rooftop gardens and vibrant public spaces, aimed at young professionals and fostering a cohesive community.
