Netherlands steps up AI capacity with new Dutch AI Cloud and SAP's €100 million agents program

Entrepreneur Han de Groot, through his datacenter firm Volt, launched the Dutch AI Cloud in partnership with Dell Technologies and NorthC Datacenters. The platform offers European organisations access to GPU compute power for developing, training and running AI applications, emphasizing data sovereignty, security and privacy. De Groot invested over €10 million of his own funds and aims to raise a total of €15 billion to keep AI workloads on Dutch infrastructure.

SAP announced a €100 million global innovation programme to accelerate the deployment of AI‑agents in enterprise processes. Companies can receive up to €100,000 per project to move AI from pilot to production in areas such as sales, services, commerce and marketing. The programme highlights that Dutch firms currently lag behind in AI‑agent adoption and encourages concrete implementations rather than isolated productivity tools. Funding is not limited to SAP technology and can incorporate data and models from providers such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, OpenAI and AWS.
