Netherlands tops World Cup Group F as Japan and Sweden draw

The Netherlands secured first place in Group F of the FIFA World Cup, defeating Tunisia 3‑1 with early goals from Ellyes Skhiri, Brian Brobbey and Jan Paul van Hecke. The win guarantees the Dutch side’s progression to the knockout round.

In the group’s final match, Japan and Sweden finished level at 1‑1. Daizen Maeda gave Japan the lead in the 56th minute, but Anthony Elanga equalised for Sweden six minutes later. Both teams confirmed their advancement to the round of 16, joining the Netherlands.

All three nations – the Netherlands, Japan and Sweden – will move on to the next stage of the tournament.
