Netto supermarket in Hamburg faces hygiene concerns after mouse filmed in bakery display
A video filmed at a Netto discount supermarket in Hamburg-Altona shows a live mouse crawling among bread rolls in a closed self-service bakery display case. The footage, recorded around September 25 or 26, 2026, has caused significant concern among customers.
Eyewitnesses reported that management had allegedly been aware of the issue for two months before the video was taken, suggesting that staff shortages may have prevented proper cleaning and disinfection of the area.
In response, Netto confirmed that an employee discovered a single mouse in mid-September. The company stated that an external pest control firm was immediately engaged and the animal was caught, asserting that the incident was handled promptly.
