Network security teams grapple with data overload despite AI advances

Security operations centers now receive a flood of data from vulnerability scanners, exposure management platforms, cloud security tools, microsegmentation solutions and AI‑generated recommendations. While visibility into hybrid environments has never been higher, teams struggle to turn those findings into concrete actions. The challenge is not a lack of information but an excess of it, making it difficult to prioritize which vulnerabilities are truly reachable and which exposures represent real business risk.

Experts stress that threat‑intelligence must be linked to investment decisions. Sudden spikes in DDoS attack duration, API abuse or bot activity should prompt CISOs to reassess defensive capabilities and, if needed, raise the issue to board level. A reported absence of API incidents may actually signal a blind spot in detection rather than a clean bill of health. Effective security now requires moving from mere visibility to continuous policy control across on‑premises and cloud environments.
