Germany reports train collisions and WWII bomb disposal

Germany has experienced several significant transport-related incidents involving trains and unexploded ordnance.

In two separate accidents at closed level crossings, regional trains collided with cars. In Manching, Bavaria, a 65-year-old driver sustained minor injuries after his vehicle was struck by a train; approximately 130 passengers were evacuated after waiting in the train for over an hour. In Mittelhessen, a 65-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries when her car was struck by a regional train at a closed crossing in Reichelsheim.

Additionally, railway services between Augsburg and Ulm were temporarily suspended to facilitate the disposal of five World War II-era US unexploded bombs. Each bomb weighed approximately 126 kilograms. The disposal operation in Neu-Ulm required the closure of the railway line and the B10 federal highway, with a 500-meter safety zone established around each device.
