Neue Zürcher Zeitung wins legal dispute in Hamburg
The Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) has concluded a legal dispute in Hamburg against the media outlet Inside Paradeplatz (IP). The litigation centered on comments made by IP regarding the NZZ's Germany editor-in-chief and his alleged use of artificial intelligence for writing.
The Hamburg District Court ruled in favor of the NZZ on the primary point of the dispute. Following the ruling, the NZZ was required to pay 476.00 EUR in legal costs, representing two-thirds of the total 714.00 EUR court fees.
The dispute also involved the German political magazine Cicero, which published a detailed report on the matter. The NZZ pursued legal action against Cicero after the publication used plagiarism-detection software that produced unfavorable results regarding texts written by an NZZ staff member.
