Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina's only coastal town, experienced a surge of visitors this summer, filling its central beach from early morning and driving up demand for sunbeds and umbrellas. Most of Neum's shoreline is under private concessions, limiting free space for tourists who prefer the less crowded rocky areas. The municipality reports the sea remains clean and the sewage system does not pollute it, though occasional odors are reported when certain wind conditions affect underground pipes. Water from local sources is deemed safe, though some visitors prefer bottled water due to taste differences.

At the nearby Alemaris Resort in Baško Polje on the Makarska Riviera, a summer promotion offers guests a free night after a three‑night stay, with half‑board accommodation and flexible cancellation.
