Neuquén advances major urban infrastructure and tourism projects

The city of Neuquén is advancing several major infrastructure and urban development projects aimed at boosting tourism, sports, and local connectivity. Mayor Mariano Gaido has confirmed the upcoming bidding process for the Neuquén Arena, scheduled for November, which will be located near the North Highway and Route 67.

Other key projects include the construction of a municipal kart track in the same expansion zone and the Hiroki pedestrian bridge, which has already been awarded. The bridge will connect to Isla de las Aves and include ambulance access to support a new wilderness park. Additionally, the city is expanding its coastal walkways, recently adding 3.5 kilometers of riverfront access.

In terms of road maintenance, the municipality is currently repaving Alderete Street, one of the city's oldest main arteries. This work is part of a broader municipal plan to recover approximately 500 blocks of streets per year, prioritizing roads that are 20 to 25 years old to prevent potholes and structural deterioration.
