Neuquén announces major tourism infrastructure and incentive programs
The Government of Neuquén has unveiled a comprehensive strategy to boost provincial tourism through significant infrastructure investments and consumer incentives. The province plans to invest 413.8 billion pesos in various projects, including the construction of nine coastal walkways, three convention centers, a new paleontological museum in Villa El Chocón, and the complete renovation of the Copahue Thermal Baths.
A central component of the investment is a new Transport Hub in Neuquén capital, estimated at 180 billion pesos. This project aims to expand the current area from 5,000 to 50,000 square meters, integrating airport, rail, and bus terminals, along with new boarding gates, a hotel, a shopping center, and event spaces.
Complementing these physical works, the “Volá Neuquén” program has been launched to encourage travel via new aerial connections. The initiative offers a 20% discount on American Jet flights and various promotions for local services such as hotels, gastronomy, and excursions. Key routes include connections between Neuquén capital, San Martín de los Andes, and Chos Malal, with promotional fares established for these regional flights.
