Neuquén develops international tourism and trade corridor
Neuquén is working to establish the ‘Camino de la Fe’ (Way of Faith), an international tourism corridor designed to integrate nature, spirituality, and regional development. The initiative involves a road infrastructure plan focused on paving and repaving routes to improve connectivity between local towns and strengthen integration with Chile.
The 379-kilometer route will connect Ailinco in the Alto Neuquén region to Villa La Angostura in the Southern Lakes Region, linking the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific. The project includes the use of three paved international passes—Pino Hachado, Cardenal Samoré, and Icalma—and aims to consolidate the Bioceanic Corridor through the paving of the Pichachén international pass. This development is intended to boost religious tourism and support local productive, commercial, and service sectors.
