Neuquén hosts first national congress to combat micro-trafficking
Neuquén has launched the First National Congress on the Fight Against Micro-trafficking, a forum designed to share experiences regarding drug decriminalization, criminal investigation, and institutional coordination. The event aims to analyze challenges in criminal prosecution and strengthen tools to combat small-scale drug sales.
Security Minister Matías Nicolini highlighted that the province's approach is based on a decision by Governor Rolando Figueroa to take direct responsibility for addressing the issue. This strategy involves increasing police capacity, investing in technology and training, and working in close coordination with the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor's Office.
Representatives from several other provinces, including Río Negro, Chubut, La Pampa, Córdoba, and Misiones, are participating in the congress. The provincial model focuses on resolving jurisdictional disputes between judges and fostering cooperation between different levels of government and local municipalities.
