Neuquén implements SaMA+ mental health strategy

The SaMA+ (Salud Mental Accesible) provincial strategy in Neuquén, Argentina, has recorded 2,208 consultations and assisted over 700 users during its first six months of operation. Launched in late May, the initiative aims to strengthen community care and address problematic substance consumption through interdisciplinary devices located across various sectors of the city, including Confluencia, Zona Oeste, and the Polo de Mujeres y Diversidad.

The program provides extended hours and coordinates care between the community, primary health levels, and specialized services. Beyond direct clinical assistance, the strategy involves identifying complex field situations, coordinating with hospitals, and collaborating with the ministries of Labor, Education, and Social Development to promote social inclusion.
