Neuquén implements energy, fiscal, and infrastructure developments

Governor Rolando Figueroa has announced a series of strategic initiatives for Neuquén focused on energy sovereignty, fiscal relief, and industrial diversification. To ensure gas supply for the Lakes Region, the province will invest 90 million dollars in 118 kilometers of new pipelines under a Loop system. This project, involving companies such as TGS and Camuzzi, aims to supply over 24,500 users in Junín de los Andes, San Martín de los Andes, and Villa La Angostura using gas from the Vaca Muerta formation, reducing dependence on supplies from Chubut.

On the fiscal front, the provincial government is introducing tax benefits for 2027. These measures include a 25 percent discount on property taxes for compliant citizens, exemptions on stamp duties for rental contracts, and tax credits for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Additionally, the province has improved its credit profile, with S&P Global Ratings upgrading Neuquén from “b-” to “b+” due to efficient public account management and reduced debt.

In terms of industrial growth, the province inaugurated its first pellet plant in Junín de los Andes. Operated by Corfone, the 3.8 million dollar facility will convert forestry waste into heating fuel. Furthermore, the Neuquén Habita program has begun distributing provincial mortgage credits to support home construction for local families.
