Neuquén invests $11 million in school connectivity and technology

The Neuquén provincial government is advancing Plan Püwen, an $11 million initiative aimed at closing the digital divide through massive technology distribution in schools. The plan includes the installation of 250 Starlink antennas to ensure high-speed internet for 100% of the province's rural schools.

Equipment being distributed includes 40,000 netbooks, 7,000 tablets, 242 3D printers, 1,000 educational robots for primary school, and 450 interactive screens. To support this rollout, more than 9,000 teachers have already received training through the Escuela Digital Neuquina to integrate these tools across various subjects like Mathematics and History.

The project utilized international bidding processes to optimize the budget, reducing costs by approximately one-third compared to local prices. While logistical delays have occurred at the Port of Buenos Aires due to union actions, the government expects to complete equipment distribution by the end of the year.
