ANDIS corruption probe: Forensic analysis of Spagnuolo audios to begin

The Gendarmería Nacional's Criminalistics and Forensic Studies Directorate is set to begin a technical analysis of audio recordings attributed to Diego Spagnuolo, the former director of the National Disability Agency (ANDIS). The investigation focuses on alleged corruption, including overpricing and kickbacks related to the procurement of medicines and supplies.

The recordings reportedly contain conversations where Spagnuolo mentions that the agency was being defrauded. Some of the audio also mentions alleged kickbacks involving government officials, specifically naming Karina Milei and Eduardo 'Lule' Menem, with claims of a 3% return.

Spagnuolo's legal defense has contested the authenticity of the recordings, asserting they are fake and have been manipulated using artificial intelligence, citing the presence of 18 micro-cuts. Despite these claims and Spagnuolo's refusal to provide a voice sample for comparison, the forensic study will proceed to determine if the audio has been edited or altered.
