Neuquén launches electricity discount program for residential users

Residential users of the Ente Provincial de Energía del Neuquén (EPEN) can now register for the 'Tarifa Neuquina' program to receive a 30% discount on both fixed and variable electricity charges. The program is expected to benefit approximately 96,000 households, representing 87% of EPEN's total residential users.

To receive the discount in December bills, residents must complete the online registration process by November 10. Applications processed after this date will see the benefit reflected in subsequent billing cycles. Governor Rolando Figueroa stated that the reduction is funded by renegotiated hydroelectric royalty recognitions, which will be redistributed to users as a subsidy.

In addition to residential homes, the provincial government plans to extend this 30% benefit to hotel and gastronomic establishments to help reduce energy costs and stimulate local economic activity.
