Neuquén launches fly fishing instructor training program

The Government of Neuquén has launched the Provincial Fishing Plan and a specific training program for fly fishing instructors. Developed in collaboration with the Instituto Superior de Estudios Interdisciplinarios (ISEI), the initiative aims to professionalize the discipline and expand access to specialized training throughout the province.

The program is a hybrid model lasting two months, designed for residents over the age of 18. It includes six modules covering topics such as casting techniques, pedagogy, and error detection. Training will be delivered via the ISEI platform through live classes and video content to reach remote locations.

Minister of Youth, Sports, and Culture Josefina Codermatz stated that the program was created following a survey that identified high demand for specialized training. The initiative seeks to create new labor opportunities and strengthen the link between sports fishing, tourism, and the preservation of natural resources. Officials expressed the ambition to establish a national reference school for fly fishing through this program.
