Neuquén Police expands aerial surveillance with 25 drones
The Neuquén Police has expanded its aerial surveillance capabilities, now operating 25 drones with 24 specialized pilots certified by the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC). The fleet is distributed across Neuquén capital, Chos Malal, Zapala, Cutral Co, Plottier, and Añelo.
Governor Rolando Figueroa stated that the investment in technology is intended to strengthen police prevention and response. The drones are utilized for various tasks, including anti-narcotics operations, criminal investigations, searches, rescues, and urban or rural patrolling. The technology allows officers to gather terrain information and observe targets from distances of 200 to 400 meters, aiding in the detection of criminal networks and micro-trafficking.
