Neuquén province hosts Independence Day parade and winter entrepreneur fair

Neuquén city marked Argentina’s Independence Day on 9 July with a central ceremony and a civic‑military parade organized by the provincial government and the Banco Provincia foundation. The event began at 14:30 on Avenida Mitre and featured the Argentine Army, provincial police, schools, veterans of the Malvinas War, gaucho groups and a marching band, with live streaming available online.

In the mountain town of San Martín de los Andes, a Winter Fair of Entrepreneurs opened in the Plaza San Martín and will run daily until 9 August. About 50 local producers and artisans showcase regional foods, crafts, textiles and natural cosmetics from 15:00 to 22:00, with free admission. The fair aims to boost tourism and highlight Patagonian products during the winter holiday season.
